Indian Union Minister for Women and Child Development and senior BJP leader Smriti Irani slammed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over his irrational disruptions in both Houses of parliament. She told reporters in New Delhi that Rahul Gandhi wanted to prevent a healthy productive debate and discussion in parliament. He did not ask any questions in Parliament during his tenure as MP of Amethi, and he had a low attendance rate of less than 40%. According to Mrs Irani, the people of the country want these topics to be discussed in Parliament, as they are of significant importance to the entire country.
Anurag Thakur, India’s Information and Broadcasting Minister, said the opposition, including the Aam Aadmi Party, misled the youth about the newly launched Agnipath Scheme. Aam Aadmi Party leaders questioned Army rules and the Agniveer scheme for political reasons, Mr Thakur said. Army Rules 1954 and Defence Service Regulation 1987 govern the Army’s rules and recruitment process, he added. Many youth have applied for Agniveer over the past few months, a sign that opposition propaganda has become more prominent, particularly AAP lies.
